Reflexology

For Optimal Physical & Emotional Wellbeing

Reflexology is a safe, gentle, and natural therapy that works through the feet to access the whole body. The skilled hands of your therapist apply pressure to precise points on the feet (mainly the soles), which correspond to all the major organs, glands, cells, and systems within. This non-invasive therapy does not claim to cure; instead, it facilitates internal balance and functioning, thus maximizing the body’s potential for healing.

Reflexology supports our overall wellbeing by helping to:

  • Lower stress levels

  • Balance hormonal functioning

  • Alleviate tension

  • Aid healthy sleep (allowing the body to repair itself)

  • Improve mood

After suffering for several weeks with lower back pain and sciatica I turned to reflexology desperate for some relief. Following my first session with Julie, I had about 50 percent reduction in pain all day and even managed to sleep for the first time in over a month without having to pace the floors! You really do have healing hands Julie. I feel a lot more positive and able to cope with this knowing it can be hopefully managed when if it doesn’t completely go. I have been able to enjoy a few days away without the pain spoiling my holiday. Looking forward to my next visit.” Susan McKee

What to Expect on your First Visit

Before your reflexology treatment you will fill out a health and lifestyle consultation form. This information allows me to deliver the most suitable treatment for your individual needs. The data collected is kept strictly confidential.

Your reflexology session will then begin. The therapy table is comfortable and supportive, with the option to sit upright or recline. All you need do is remove your footwear, put your feet in the hands of a professional therapist, and relax! The pressure I use is firm but never painful. You can nap, chat with me, or ask questions during your treatment. It’s up to you. Afterward, I will discuss my observations and offer some aftercare advice, e.g., what you can do to feel better – in small, achievable steps.

Reflexology isn’t advisable if you have;

  • an infectious foot condition such as athletes foot
  • osteoarthritis or other pain in the feet
  • active gout
  • thrombosis or embolism
  • open wounds on the feet

What To Bring With You

You can bring (or wear) a comfortable top and jogging bottoms/leggings. I provide soft, clean towels and linens. There is a bathroom close to the therapy room. Hand sanitisers are in the entrance hall and therapy room.

What You Don’t Need To Do Before Your Appointment

You do not need a pedicure before your appointment or worry about bunions or hard skin on your feet. Clean feet, however, are much appreciated. You may be arriving straight from work, but don’t worry; I have refreshing foot wipes you can use.

Have I given you all the information you require? If there’s anything else you need to ask about how reflexology can help you, please don’t hesitate to call me.

I look forward to seeing you!

Julie.
